A Red, White & Blue 4th of July Treat Just For You

This year celebrate Independence Day with a bang! And no, we are not talking about the fireworks, but the food rather - more specifically, the dessert! We found a perfectly cool summer treat to complement your star spangled outdoor soiree. Cold, sweet and covered in ooey-gooey, chocolaty goodness, From Calculus to Cupcakes' recipe for Chocolate Covered Watermelon is a must-have dessert for your patriotic 4th of July celebration! So sit back, relax and enjoy the yummy goodness as you watch the rockets red flare light up the sky.

Chocolate Covered Watermelon

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Watermelon

  • Semi-sweet chocolate – Approximately 1 oz. per slice of watermelon (Swap for dark chocolate which is a good source of magnesium)

  • Red, white & blue sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Slice watermelon into 1” – 1-1/2” thick rounds. Then cut the rounds into eighths.

  2. Freeze until hard. Preferably overnight.

  3. Melt chocolate and spoon over frozen watermelon.

  4. Quickly sprinkle with sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.

  5. Then quickly return to the freezer until ready to serve.

  6. Enjoy!
