Acai Please!


When you hear the word Acai, you might wonder, “What is that? And how do you even pronounce it?” Well, simply put Acai, pronounced ah-sah-EE, is a purple edible berry from a Central and South American palm tree. The acai berry is rich in antioxidants and acts as an anti-inflammatory, not to mention it’s delicious, so it’s no surprise that Acai Bowls have become such a popular menu item. The favored breakfast trend is basically an acai smoothie topped with yummy goodness such as berries, fruit, granola, coconut, and more. Unfortunately, the price of Acai Bowls has risen with its popularity, but not to fear, Lean Green Nutrition Fiend is here! Berry Acai Bowl

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

Smoothie

  • ⅔ cup Frozen Blueberries

  • ⅔ cup Frozen Strawberries

  • ½ Banana

  • ¾-1 cup Almond Milk (or milk of your choice)

  • 1 teaspoon Acai Powder

Toppings

  • ½ Banana, sliced

  • Fresh blueberries

  • Fresh strawberries, sliced

  • Granola of your choice

  • Coconut Flakes

Instructions

  1. Put all the smoothie ingredients into a blender

  2. If the mixture is having trouble blending, add more Almond Milk or water

  3. Blend until the smoothie is smooth

  4. Pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl

  5. Top with desired ingredients

  6. Serve and enjoy!
